Daniel Gordon (b. 1980) gained a Bachelor of Arts from Bard College in 2004, and an MFA from Yale School of Art in 2006. He has exhibited his photographs in solo exhibitions at Zach Feuer Gallery and Leo Koenig Inc. in New York City and Claudia Groeflin Gallery in Zurich. He has been included in exhibitions at the CCS Museum at Bard College, Gallery 400 at the University of Illinois, and this year his work was featured in the New Photography Series at the Museum of Modern Art. Gordon is the Author of Portrait Studio (onestar press, 2009) and Flying Pictures (powerHouse Books, 2009). Gordon was recently a Visiting Lecturer in the photography department at Sarah Lawrence College.
Coley Brown was born in 1987 in Louisiana. He moved to NYC at 19 and after a two years of traveling the USA and assisting photographers such as Ryan McGinley, he released his first monograph entitled “Jam Jelly Honey Wild Rice”. Brown’s work is the result of constant traveling and exploration of the world around him. He recently had his first solo show in Osaka, Japan in 2009.
Jeremie Egry (born 1979 in Grenoble, France) is a cofounder of Je Suis Une Bande De Jeunes. Using photography as a medium, Jeremie searches to capture places and moments, present and past. His work is recognized by unexpected encounters, subliminal human presence and the uncommon beauty of common things.
Young Kyu Yoo was born in Seoul Korea in 1979. He holds a BA in Photography at JoongBu University, Korea. He has lived in Brooklyn, NY since 2005. He currently does work for W Korea and Harpers Bazaar Korea. Young is focusing on his series, “Combine of Shapes”.
Sol Hashemi was born in Vancouver, WA and now lives in Seattle. He is a recent graduate from the University of Washington where he was awarded the Jarvis Award in Photography and was a Mary Gates Research Scholar. His father once made him a shelf by taking a desk, flipping it upside down, and bolting it to the wall. Sol’s first words were “garage sale”.
Michael E. Northrup, Baltimore
Michael Northrup is a photographer and professor that lives and works in Baltimore, MD. He holds an MFA at the Art Institute of Chicago. His works have been shown at the Herman Fine Arts Gallery (OH), The Washington Centre for Photography, Moore College of Art, Colorado Photographic Arts Centre and Cameravision Gallery (LA). In 2004, his book “Beautiful Ecstasy” was published by JandL Books, and in 2005, the book received the American Photography Book Award. Nikon, Scientific America, Polaroid, Chicago Art Institute, and the Erie Art Museum have acquired Michael’s work as part of their collections.
Nina Hartmann (b 1990) is currently residing in Chicago, IL working towards her BFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Willa Nasatir was born in Los Angeles and currently resides in New York City while pursuing a BFA at the Cooper Union. She has been published by Vice Magazine (NY), PIG Magazine (Italy), and American Apparel as well as participating in group shows in Germany, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. She is 19 years old.
Paul Schiek, Oakland
Paul Schiek makes enigmatic photographs of the people and things he encounters on his constant travels throughout the US. Working mostly during the nighttime hours, Schiek’s seemingly casual style spotlights and transforms an ordinary or even mundane subject, revealing something unexpected, surreal, or spectacular. Schiek roots his photographic practice in a search for connectedness through the exploration of the epic questions of god, death and love, revealing in his images a preoccupation with the struggle of opposites. Schiek recently graduated with a BA from CCA, where he studied closely with Jim Goldberg and Larry Sultan. Originally from Wisconsin, an association that deeply informs his work, Schiek currently lives in Oakland, CA.
Mikaylah Bowman is 20 years old. She lives in Texas. Her mother went into labor while watching Twilight of the Cockroaches in a theater. Mikaylah’s placenta was planted under a tree three years later.
